Thanksgiving Turkeys

These are my favorite Thanksgiving favors that we have made differently for years and have finally fine-tuned! And it is so fun to make them! Here is how:
Base & hat: Keebler Grasshopper Cookies
Top of hat: Rolo Candy
Body: Nutter Butter Cookie (carefully cut top and bottom round off)
Feathers & Feet: Sour Patch Kids
Eyes: Dot of royal icing & mini chocolate chip
Beak: Candy Corn
Bottom of favor: Keebler Grasshopper Cookie
Glue: Royal Icing
Assembly: (I usually do each step like an assembly line when I am doing lots of favors).
Assembly Step 1
Cut top and bottom off of nutter butter cookies.
Pipe royal icing over bottom back of cookie.
Put 3 sour patch kids down each side for feathers (so they are sticking out over the sides).
Let them dry really well!
Assembly Step 2
(While step one is drying)
Pipe royal icing on bottom of rolo and place on top of one grasshopper cookie. Let dry.
Assembly Step 3
Turn nutter butter cookies that you have put feathers on over so feathers are on the table. Pipe icing on candy corn and put on for beak. Pipe 2 dots for eyes and put on mini chocolate chips. You can also cut a small piece of red sour patch kid for the red part on top of the beak. Let dry well.
Assembly Step 4
Pipe royal icing on bottom of finished-drying nutter butter cookie & place standing up (make sure it is not tipping!) on middle of one grasshopper cookie. Let dry well.
Assembly Step 5
Top turkey with hat that you previously made. Be careful to place it balanced so it won't knock the turkey over. Let dry well. Add on feet if you want to. To make the feet I cut an orange sour patch kid in half, then cut with scissors to make "toes" on the feet.
Enjoy!
