Lydia wanted a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday party this year, and I was so set on making it really simple! I was only going to do cupcakes, but I found this cute cake online and had to make it! So fun! And we just happened to collect all of the Strawberry Shortcake toys from McD's kids meals, so voila! This is a slightly tipsy 4 layer cake - 2 different rounds. I found these awesome pink sparkly round chocolate candies to put around the bottom & top layers. I also decorated with whatever I had in my candy bin - M&M's, starburst, airheads, tootsie rolls, red licorice string, marshmallows, and gumdrops! I made the "4" out of a laffy taffy rope.

I made pink cupcakes with pink frosting. I had bought these pink gummy strawberries & wish I had done the frosting another color so you can see them better - oh well! My sis-in-law Amber sat and cut the tops of the strawberries out of gumdrops for me - what a great helper when I was stressing at the last minute (as usual)!
Lydia loved her cake & I am so glad, cuz it was a TON more work than I had planned on! :)
